Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that the company will provide financial assistance to those affected by Hurricane Milton in Florida.
What We Know
In a post on the social network X, Cook expressed Apple's sympathy for those impacted by the devastation but did not disclose the amount of the donation.
Hurricane Milton caused widespread damage, leaving millions without power and claiming at least 16 lives. Currently, the storm is moving into the Atlantic Ocean as a post-tropical cyclone, with winds reaching up to 75 miles per hour.
Along with financial aid, Apple has introduced a new iOS 18 feature called Satellite Notifications. This allows iPhone 14 and later users to send messages even without cellular service, which is particularly valuable during emergencies. Additionally, iOS includes the Emergency SOS feature, enabling users to call for emergency assistance when needed.
