Amazon has announced that it will discontinue the Kindle Oasis, the last Kindle model with physical page-turn buttons.

Key Information

The Kindle Oasis, first released in 2016 and updated in 2019, will no longer be produced once current stock runs out.

Over the years, the Oasis became a favorite among e-book enthusiasts, but Amazon has decided to shift its focus to touchscreen models, which are considered more user-friendly. Company spokesperson Devon Corvas confirmed the decision, noting that all future Kindle devices will feature touchscreens.

Despite the absence of physical buttons, newer Kindle models like the Paperwhite, the Colorsoft with a color display, and the Scribe (designed for both reading and writing) are gaining popularity.

For readers who prefer physical buttons, alternatives such as the Kobo Libra Color are still available.

While the Kindle Oasis is no longer available on Amazon in the US, international versions can still be purchased.
