After updating to iOS 18, some iPhone users have encountered a persistent error in the Photos app when trying to save edited images.

Instead of saving the changes, a message appears: "An error occurred while saving this photo. Please try again later." This means that the edits aren’t saved, and users can only undo the changes.
While this issue is more common on the iPhone 16, it affects other models as well. The bug has been present since September and continues in iOS 18 versions, including iOS 18.2. It seems to be linked to Live Photos or iCloud Photos, though the exact cause remains unclear. Some users have reported issues with photos from specific dates.
Apple is actively working on a fix. In the meantime, users can copy the photo as "fixed" to save changes, but this will result in the loss of Live Photos and photo styles.
