The film *Dune: Part Two* premiered in February 2024 and received a warm reception from audiences. However, the film's writer and director, Denis Villeneuve, initially stated that he planned to take a break and recharge before returning to work.

But based on his recent comments, it seems his plans have changed significantly.

Here’s What We Know

In an interview with *Deadline*, Villeneuve admitted that he's "not made for idleness" and has already started working on the script for *Dune: Messiah*, based on Frank Herbert's second novel.

The film's events will take place 12 years after the conclusion of *Dune: Part Two*, with familiar characters facing entirely new circumstances. Villeneuve views the next installment not as a direct sequel but as a fresh new story.

The director is hopeful that Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Anya Taylor-Joy will reprise their lead roles.

While Villeneuve hasn’t set any dates, he’s eager to begin filming. He humorously teased fans by saying, "There will be more worms," stirring excitement for what's to come.
