Germany has begun equipping its army units with additional Vector reconnaissance drones from Quantum-Systems.

According to .loyal, the Vector UAVs will be delivered to army intelligence units, reconnaissance companies in airborne brigades, and mountain infantry within the Rapid Response Division.

Florian Seibel, CEO of Quantum-Systems, stated that 14 Vector drones have already been purchased for the Special Operations Forces, with plans to increase that number to 60. The first drones are expected to arrive by the end of this year. While the specific number of UAVs ordered for the Rapid Response Division has not been disclosed, deliveries are anticipated to start in the second quarter of 2025.

The Vector is a fixed-wing UAV capable of vertical takeoff and landing, eliminating the need for a launcher or runway. It features a wingspan of 2.8 meters and can achieve flight speeds of up to 72 km/h. The manufacturer indicates that the drone can operate in wind speeds of up to 12 m/s.
