The endoscopy was performed on a pig located in Hong Kong, while the surgeons operated from approximately 9,300 kilometers away in Switzerland.
The procedure involved a robotic system and a magnetic endoscope, which were linked through a direct WebSocket protocol for real-time data transmission. The Swiss surgeon controlled the endoscope using a PlayStation 3 Move controller, and demonstrations also indicated the use of a PlayStation 5 controller.
