Google has revealed that the Imagen 3 image generator is now accessible to all Google Gemini users.

What We Know So Far

Previously, it was only available through the AI Test Kitchen in the US. The new model delivers more realistic images and features fewer flaws compared to earlier versions.

Imagen 3 was initially showcased at Google I/O this year. It utilizes generative artificial intelligence to produce images based on text prompts, much like Dall-E and Midjourney.

According to Google, Imagen 3 delivers vivid colours and sharp details, making images more realistic.

The company also noted that the new model better reflects lighting effects and human images. However, the improved quality can make it difficult to determine whether an image is created by artificial intelligence.

Google is developing measures to prevent users from confusing images created by artificial intelligence with real ones. For example, Google Photos will have a feature to detect images created by AI. Meta is also implementing similar initiatives on its Facebook and Instagram platforms.
