Adobe has announced the launch of the Firefly Video Model, touted as "the world's first commercially secure and publicly available video generation model."

Here's What We Know:

Since Firefly's beta release in March 2023, over 13 billion unique images and videos have been generated, with 6 billion of those created in just the last six months.

Firefly integrates seamlessly with other Adobe applications like Photoshop, Express, and Illustrator, and is now available in Premiere Pro. What sets Firefly apart from other generative AI tools is its speed and ease of use. Users can simply describe the video they want to create, and the software will execute their request. They can then refine each scene, adjusting camera angles, lighting, depth, sharpness, and other parameters—all without needing programming skills or video editing expertise.

Premiere Pro will also introduce a feature called Generative Extend, which was previously available in Photoshop. This tool allows creators to expand the video space, making transitions between frames smoother and less noticeable.

The commercial safety of Firefly is ensured by training the generative AI solely on materials that are in the public domain and free of copyright. Consequently, everything produced with Firefly is also free from legal claims, allowing authors to use and distribute their creations without restrictions.
